Have you ever wondered? Who is God?
Here are some of the things that the Bible says about God:
" God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. "
John 4:24" For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools... "
Romans 1:20-23" The fool has said in his heart, ' There is no God. ' They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. "
Psalm 14:1A brief answer to the question, " Who is God? " is:
God is the Spirit Being who created the universe and everything in it. God was the Spirit inside the one whom we call Jesus Christ. The name, Jesus Christ, means Savior Messiah, or Savior Anointed. He was God in human form.
How can you believe in something which you cannot see? Well, you believe in the wind don't you? Have you ever seen the wind? Of course not. What you see is the effect of the wind on other things. That is how it is with God. You can't see Him, but you can see the things which He created all around you.
Why do some people say that they don't believe in God? In many cases, it is because there was a time in their life when they prayed to God,- and didn't get the answer they wanted. The atheists, whom I have encountered, are bitter, angry people. This was Darwin's problem. He was trained as a theologian, and had come down with a physical problem. When he didn't get healed, he began searching for alternatives to God. Guess what? If you go searching for alternatives to God, Satan will certainly point you to some!
If you have lost a loved one, we have news for you! God didn't kill your loved one! So, don't blame God ! In fact, the Bible tells us that God doesn't take pleasure in the death of one who dies. See Ezekiel chapter 18, verses 23 and 32. Place the blame where it belongs. Satan, the Devil, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. He is the one who deceived Adam and Eve, and brought death upon us. He is the thief of John 10:10.
We get many prayer requests. We pray for those requests, but we know full well, that in many cases, sin is going to be a barrier to the person receiving what was requested. If you want something special from God, you need to have a relationship with Him. God is not a genie who rises up out of a bottle to serve people. Most people don't have a clue as to who God is, and only pray to Him when they want something. Then they wonder why their prayers aren't answered. Do you want your prayers to be answered? The first step is to pray for a spiritual birth,- what Jesus called being born-again. The Bible says that if a person is in Christ, he/she is a new creation. ( 2 Cor. 5:17 )
Here is a suggested prayer, not a one-time thing, but pray this, until you find that you aren't the same any more:
" Father in Heaven, I surrender control of my life to You. Please make me into the kind of person that YOU WANT ME TO BE. "
God answers the prayers of those who repent and seek Him. To repent, is to have a changed attitude concerning sin, and be willing to stop sinning. In order to stop sinning, a person needs to receive a new heart, and a new spirit, from God. ( See Jeremiah 31:31-34 ) Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can reform, and change yourself. Only God can save you from your old sinful nature.
Many people say that they don't believe in God, because they have been taught in school, as if God didn't exist. It is a common practice in public schools to allow the teaching of other religions, but not christianity. These schools, also often teach that life originated, all by itself, by a process called evolution. In spite of the fact that this is just an elaborate myth, unsupported by any real scientific evidence, it is taught as science, yet it is really just a perversion of history.
The whole concept of evolution is built upon the premise, that through accidents called mutations, complexity has increased again and again from less complex forms. THERE IS NO PLACE WHERE SUCH A THING CAN BE OBSERVED, NOR HAS IT EVER BEEN OBSERVED. Evolution is nothing more than a fabrication in the minds of men, who are not willing to submit to Almighty God as their Creator, and to obey His laws.
This theory, called evolution, is being taught in most public schools, as fact, to our children with our tax money! That should make you a little upset. That's why you should do whatever is necessary to homeschool your children, or send them to a christian school. If you have been tricked into believing the evolution LIE, and have neglected to have the proper relationship with God, you have no reason to expect God to answer your prayers.
If you allow your children to be deceived into believing the evolution lie, to be taught the millions of years lie, to be taught as if God doesn't exist etc., they won't have a basis to have their prayers answered either.

The Mexico Beach Civic Center is at 105 N. 31st Street. It is the white building with the dark green roof, which is just behind that new Mexico Beach restaurant, Mango Marley's.
