Attack on AmericaGod's commandments are still in effect. Tossing them out of our schools, and halls of government, and public places, haven't changed their truths, one bit.
In the past, God has used the forces of nature to execute judgement against His people. As " one nation under God ", we are ( or were ) His people.
Satan is just as real as God. Satan has enticed our rulers, and educators, to substitute the pseudo-scientific theory of evolution, for the true God and Creator, Jesus Christ.
Satan has accused our nation of immorality and idolatry. Since his accusations are, in many cases true, God had no choice but to remove His hand of protection from us. This is why Hurricane Katrina was allowed to devastate one of our major sities, and what could be argued as our most important seaport. We weep and wail over our loss, but we brought this devastation on ourselves.
This time we cannot blame the terrorists, or some other enemies of America. We can complain about the ways in which various levels of government failed to prepare for this disaster, or failed to respond as quickly as needed. But, we ourselves, are the ones who need to accept the blame.
We are not the first society to fall under God's judgement, and probably won't be the last. Many cultures have faced what we face today. Some of those cultures repented of their evil ways and turned to God, delaying judgement for many years. Others neglected the warnings, and their entire civilizations crumbled, and became relics of the past.
The answer is found in II Chronicles 7:14,- " If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn away from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land. "
There is much talk about a return to normal. That is the worst thing that could happen, because "normal" means a return to sin, to the misuse of God's wonderful gift of sexuality, to Hollywood and the media corrupting our society with violence, blasphemy against God, and enticing our children into sexual immorality. To them " normal " means accepting the practice of " living together ", the murder of infants, and homosexuality as ok, even though God calls these practices sinful and abominations. To try to hide the evil, new words have been invented,- abortion, diversity, etc.
" Normal " means continuing to teach our children lies about the earth's history, and calling it science. " Normal " means using God's name in vain, and allowing vulgar language on TV, and keeping our society in ignorance of God, and ignorance of the entire spiritual realm.
To those of us who read our Bibles, and understand the spiritual realm, the biggest question about the events of September 11, and Hurricane Katrina, is why they didn't happen sooner.
September 11, and Hurricane Katrina, are just glimpses of what will happen if God totally removes His hand of protection from America. If America repents of its wickedness, it will be protected. If not, this is just the beginning of the end of America.
What will it be, citizens of Mexico Beach,- judgement or blessing? Please, don't make me have to say," I told you so " again.
Our Sunday morning services are being held at the Mexico Beach Civic Center. In accordance with federal laws, we have permission to use this beautiful, heated and air conditioned, facility on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM central time. The Mexico Beach Civic Center is at 105 N. 31st Street. It is the white building with the dark green roof, which is just behind that new Mexico Beach restaurant, Mango Marley's.
