The lessons learned from the rediscovery of the Red Sea Crossing Site, in the late 1900's may be even more valuable than the discovery itself! At the site of the Red Sea Crossing, pillars were found, on both sides of the Red Sea. Isaiah wrote of one of these pillars in Isaiah 19:19. The pillar, on the Egypt side of the Gulf of Aqaba ( part of the Red Sea ) is shown above. This discovery was made in the late 20th century, by Ron Wyatt, a self taught archaeologist. On the pillar, on the Saudi Arabian side, were inscriptions that indicated that King Solomon had had these pillars erected during his reign in around 940 BC, to commemorate the Red Sea crossing, which had occurred about 500 years earlier. The pillar, on the Saudi Arabia side, has since been replaced with a flag.Here's Nuweiba Beach, where the Children of Israel assembled before crossing the Red Sea:
Of course there is a lot more to this discovery. Here's some of the lessons that can be learned:
1. People had searched for the crossing site at the Gulf of Suez, without success, for at least 1700 years, because that is where they had been taught. Don't believe everything that you have been taught!
2. Important discoveries are often made by people who question, what they have been taught, and do serious study on their own.
3. If you desire the truth, you need to go beyond a traditional education, and striving for a number of abbreviations after your name.
4. You don't have to have a college degree to make an important discovery.
5. The Devil is constantly trying to distort history, destroy Bible truth, and hide important historical events.

This map is a much better match to scripture, than that found in the back of most English translations of the Bible. If you explore the scriptures containing information about the region where the real Mt. Sinai was located, you will find the name Horeb, or the term, Mountain of Horeb. Horeb was a region in the ancient nation of Midian, where Mt. Sinai was located. Midian was located in the north west portion of the nation that we today know as Saudi Arabia.
According to the people at Wyatt Archeology: " On the opposite shore ( from Nuweiba Beach ) in Saudi Arabia, exactly across from where they entered the sea, is another ancient structure, all alone, by itself, on the beach. It may have been a Midianite fortress, dedicated to Baal; We believe this was Baalzephon. The phrase ' over against ' seems to mean ' opposite of ' in respect to being across a body of water. "

When Moses fled from Pharaoh in Egypt, he went to Midian, where he met a chief named Jethro, or Reuel, and married his daughter. Jethro's home was a few miles south of Mt. Sinai. When Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, he had his first encounter with the God of Israel at the burning bush. See Exodus 3:1-12. Note that God said that Moses and the Children of Israel would SERVE Him on " this mountain ", obviously a mountain in Midian, not too far from the home of his father in law, Jethro. If you can get by all the Saudi authorities, you can see Mt. Sinai today. The top is still dark from the smoke that is mentioned in Exodus 19:18. Here's a recent photo:
The northern part of the Red Sea consists of two gulfs,- the Gulf of Suez, and the Gulf of Aqaba.
The area in between the two gulfs,- what today is incorrectly called the Sinai peninsula, was called the Wilderness of the Red Sea. ( See Exodus 13:18 )
The author of this map, Archaeologist Ron Wyatt, passed away a few years ago. His family continues his work. You can find one of their websites at: http://www.wyattarchaeology.com/red_sea.htm. We don't endorse all of his research, in fact, we seriously question some of it. But, his research on the Red Sea crossing site is well documented.
As you can see from the maps, the crossing actually took place at a location which today is known as the Gulf of Aqaba, which is part of the Red Sea. Much research had to be done before this crossing point could be located. Once the likely spot was located, it took experienced divers only a few minutes to locate the remains of the pursuing Egyptian army in 200 ft. of water or less, in spite of the fact that the water to the north and south of this crossing point was much deeper. There is a 1/2 mile wide submerged sand bar in this area where the water depth ranges from 90 to 200 ft. deep. Water on either side of this submerged sand bar is about a mile in depth. God miraculously blew the water off the sand bar so that the Children of Israel could cross this portion of the Red Sea on dry land.
When Wyatt and his two sons explored this area under water, just off Nuweiba Beach, in 1978, what did they find? They found the remains of many chariots, chariot wheels, encased in coral, and the remains of horses and Egyptian soldiers! At least one of the chariot wheels has been dated to the 18th dynasty,- the dynasty of Ramses II and Moses! Here's an example of the kinds of things which they found:

I doubt that you will see this information in National Geographic, or the History Channel, or the Discovery Channel, or any of the other media outlets that print only things that support the evolution myth. Or, will you learn about these things in our government controlled public schools, and colleges. Well did the Apostle write about those " ...who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. " ( Romans 1:19-20 )

Our Sunday AM services are being held at the Mexico Beach Civic Center. In accordance with federal laws, we have permission to use this heated, and air conditioned, facility on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM central time. We begin with a short time of greeting and fellowship, and then TJ leads us in worship. After the service we have holy communion, a time when people can request prayer, especially for healing, and sometimes, a pot luck luncheon.
The Mexico Beach Civic Center is located at 105 N. 31st Street. It is the white building with the dark green roof, which is just behind that new Mexico Beach restaurant, Mango Marley's. It is behind Parker Realty, and is on the northeast side of Rte 98. It is about 7/10 mile south of the Mexico Beach Welcome Center.
